& Construction Services
Following
are photos of some of the work I've done over the years, and some are just for fun
I like to think of the Rocking Chairs as Kinetic Sculptures, and the Furniture, Shoji Screens, and Instruments as Functional Art.
No nails screws or staples here, just old school joinery and glue.
While some of these designs are based on preexisting patterns, nothing is fixed. The overall design, dimensions, the wood, are all choices to be made. Even the "paper" for the Shoji comes in a variety of materials, thicknesses, and appearances. Most fun of all is creating something new - unique and original.
Commissions may be available by special order.
Some years back I studied under and worked for a local violin maker for several years.
You can see and PLAY a violin and a viola that I have made, and many other fine instruments, at Bellwood Violin in Ashland Oregon
While creating instruments and unique furniture is certainly more fun than hanging drywall or hot tar roofing, It's not always so easy to make a living at.
So if you were wondering about the "construction services," I am a licensed contractor in Oregon (ccb#223659). I started commercial steel stud framing, hanging drywall, finishing, and suspended acoustic ceilings, almost forty years ago. And have since learned a few additional skills; from carpentry to cabinetry, from flooring to roofing.
